Schools and Universities outreach project |

Supported by United Nations road safety youth ambassador and Formula 3 Shell supported
driver, Basil Shaaban, addressing university students on road safety issues and
elaborating on the rationales behind safety rules. Visits included the higher colleges
of technology campuses in Abu Dhabi, Zayed University, Al Hosn University, The Petroleum
Institute and others. |

Salama coordinated and managed a 90 minutes live talk show with Dr Khalifa el Souweidi
focusing on road crashes, their impact on people and the community, with live testimonials
of victims, participation of officials and road safety practitioners from the region,
as well Maytha Al Habsi, Director of Communications and Public Awareness at Emirates
Foundation for Philanthropy.

F1 FANZONE ™ ROAD SAFETY

The utmost community outreach with250’000 person showing at the Yasalam F1 Fanzone
area on Abu Dhabi Corniche and the F1 FANZONE ™ ROAD SAFETY tent at Abu Dhabi Corniche
from October 16 till November 1t – as part of the Yasalam activities.
F1 FANZONE ™ ROAD SAFETY offered a creative and exciting approach to road safety
with different driving simulators available.
Salama also hosted a “Safety Majlis” area where university students shared their
views on road safety issues, including the use of seat belts, speed and road rage.
And finally hosted Professional world class drivers such as the Racing Driver UN
World Youth Ambassador for Road Safety Basil Shaaban.

Best practices manuals with Michael Schumacher |
|

As part of his regional tour to present the World Health Organization and the FIA
foundation Best practices Manuals for “seat belt and child restraints”
and “speed management” Salama hosted the event in Abu Dhabi Yas Island
where the manuals were presented to UAE officials.
As a long term Road Safety activist, Michael Schumacher endorsed Salama initiative
and its “10-Golden rules for Safety on the roads”.

Media Campaigns |

The launch campaign in April, scaled up the initiative with its mass media campaign
and its 160 billboards, 19 newspaper ads, 9 in magazines and over 550 radio spots,
all combined have reached the community on an 80% average.

The On the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan, Salama launched its 2nd mass media
campaign that includes two TV commercials entitled “Iftar” and “chairs”. This campaign
builds on the first one and focuses on the guilt factor and the importance of thinking
of the ones we leave behind.
