What is Salama ® ? |
Salama
(the
Arabic
word
for "safety")
is a
public
awareness
initiative
launched
in
2008,
under
the
patronage
of
HH
Sheikh
Saif
bin
Zayed
Al
Nahyan,
UAE
Deputy
Prime
Minister
and
Minister
of
Interior,
in
order
to
address
the
issue
of
road
safety
throughout
the
nation.
Salama
is
an
initiative
of
Emirates
Foundation
for
Philanthropy
and
represents
a
good
example
of
the
public
and
private
sector
joining
forces
for
one
cause.
Its
founding
consortium
consists
of
the
Emirates
Foundation
for
Philanthropy,
Shell
and
the
Emirates
Driving
Company
-
with
the
support
of
the
UAE
Ministry
of
Interior.
All
have
decided
to
combine
their
resources,
knowledge
and
best
practices
to
ensure Salama's
